AI Clips
Turn a long recording into short videos for TikTok, Reels and Shorts: AI finds the best moments and makes them vertical, with captions and framing that follows whoever speaks.
Get started in four steps
From your recording to your clips:
- Open the recording in the editor and transcribe it.
- In the AI Clips tab, press Find clips with AI.
- Open each clip to review it: adjust its edges, format, captions and music.
- Export one clip or all of them at once.
What it does
AI reads the transcript and picks the moments that stand on their own as a short video: they open with a hook and end with a complete idea, with their edges set at the end of sentences. Each clip is a part of your edit, so it is edited with the same tools as the rest of the editor.
Find clips
You need the transcript and a paid plan. The search uses AI credits: 1 credit per started hour of recording. If it fails or finds no clear moments, your credits are given back. It takes a couple of minutes and you can keep editing meanwhile. Find more clips searches the same recording again.
The results
Each clip has a title, a score with its parts (Hook, Value, Emotion and Ending), the reasons it was picked and its length. They show in the AI Clips tab and on the CLIPS track of the timeline.
Review and adjust
When you open a clip, the viewer shows only that clip in its format. Drag its edges on the CLIPS track to make it longer or shorter, change its title and edit whatever you need: cuts you make inside the clip apply to your edit too.
Format and framing
Choose 9:16 (vertical), 1:1 (square) or 16:9 (horizontal). In vertical and square, Follow whoever speaks analyzes the clip in your browser so the framing follows the person speaking at each moment. If you change the clip a lot, the editor suggests analyzing it again.
Captions
Choose Dynamic (word highlighted as it is spoken), Clean or No captions. They are made from the transcript and burned into the video on export.
Clip music
Each clip can use the music From the edit (with soft fades at its edges), Its own music or No music. If you pick a song as your brand music for AI Clips, clips without music use it on their own. If you change the inherited music inside a clip, the clip gets its own copy and you can go Back to the edit's music at any time.
Titles, B-roll and transitions from the edit
What you placed in the edit within the clip's stretch shows in the clip too, marked as from the edit. If something does not fit a clip, use Hide in this clip: it is removed from that clip only, never from your edit.
Intro and outro in clips
Turn on With intro and outro for the clips to carry your intro and outro. If they are horizontal, they fit over a blurred background or you can upload your own vertical version.
Export the clips
Export one clip or press Export all to export up to 20 at once. Each clip comes out as an MP4 with its format, framing, captions and music, to download or save to your cloud.
