Input Layouts
Turn one input into a multi-camera shot: split screen, side by side, grid or picture-in-picture, with your cameras and guests in boxes that fill themselves.
Start in four steps
To go from one camera to a layout with two or more:
- Put the input in Preview and press Layout, above the Preview monitor.
- Choose a template, for example Side by side or 2x2 grid.
- In Boxes, choose which camera or guest fills each box.
- Press Apply to Preview and, when you want it on air, push it to Main.
What a layout is
A layout turns an input into a picture made of boxes, each with a camera or a guest of the show, over a background. Every source fills its box, centered and never distorted. That is how you get several people on screen at once: interviews, video podcasts, panels or a presenter with their camera in a corner. An input with more than one camera is always a layout, also when you added the cameras by hand.
Templates
There are nine templates, each in landscape (16:9) and portrait (9:16), plus a tenth, Free, with no fixed boxes: every box stays wherever you put it. When you switch templates, the cameras you chose keep their order.

Filling the boxes
In the Boxes tab, every box has a picker: connected cameras, cameras with no signal, cameras on this computer (they connect to a free input when you apply) and Empty or Waiting for guest. You can use any camera of the show or a connected guest. The input's own camera starts in the first box when it is connected. To open the layout of an input that is not in Preview, use Edit input, the pencil on every input.
Background
The background shows behind and between the boxes. It can be a color or an image from your library, which covers the whole canvas without distortion.
Style
In Style you choose the Spacing around and between the boxes (None, Small, Medium or Large), the Corners (Rounded or Square; a circle stays a circle) and the Border. The border can be Same on all, with a color, a width and a Solid, Dashed or Dotted Line. In Free you can also choose Each box its own: every camera keeps the border you gave it on the canvas.
Names
Turn on Show the name on every box to add a tag with the name of whoever fills it, in the font you choose. By default it is the input's name or Guest N; you can type another one, and that name follows its camera if you move it to another box.
Guests drop in by themselves
With a layout in Preview, a guest you add drops into the first free guest box by themselves. When every box is taken, MoyStream asks you: switch to a template with one more box (for example from Side by side to 3 equal), put them in place of whoever is in a box, or add them free. Empty boxes show Waiting for guest in Preview and the background in Program. When the guest leaves, their box is free again.
Add Camera
In Layers & Overlays, Add Camera adds a camera of the show as one more box of the input in Preview, in the shape of its picture. The input becomes Free: with no layout, one is created and the input's own camera stays as the background; with a template, its boxes stay where they were. Cameras already in the input are shown disabled.
Moving and resizing
Every box is one more layer of the Preview canvas: move it, resize it, crop it or rotate it like any layer; the picture always fills the box without distortion. With a template, Apply to Preview again puts the boxes back in place; in Free they stay where they are. In Free, Input's camera as background puts the input's own camera under the boxes.
Landscape and portrait
When you change the show's orientation (16:9 or 9:16), every template switches to its version in the other orientation with the same cameras in each box. In Free, every box keeps its center and its size, and remembers where it was in each orientation: when you switch back, it is exactly where you left it.
On air
You prepare the layout in Preview, and it reaches Program when you push it to Main, like any change to an input. AI Director never switches to an input with more than one camera, so it never cuts away from your composition mid-show.
Limits
A layout has at most 9 boxes, and a camera can be in each input only once. Guests use the guest boxes; to put them somewhere else, move their box on the canvas.
